These are two more paintings I completed recently to take to Fan Expo. They were done large, in gouache and ink on 12" x 17" paper. Mister Miracle is a character I draw rarely, but have always wanted to paint at one point or another, while the Flash is a super-hero I seem to draw only as quick con-sketches. I enjoyed the opportunity to do a finished, polished painting this time around.
I'll be working on a few more super-hero paintings in the next week or so to bring to Fan Expo.

Brilliant! Mr. Miracle is my all time favourite superhero. The contrast between the complexity of Apokolips and the lines are on the figure is awesome.
That Barry Allen Flash piece is so brilliant. you captured his essence perfectly.
my favorite character is done absolute justice by you, sir. thank you.
Those are both fantastic!!
super good love the flash!
I hate to be the one on the outs here, but with the exaggerated foreground perspective, my eye keeps focusing on the Flash's giant right foot, to the exclusion of almost everything else in the picture.
Yep! I have to agree with mr. Neil with Flash's foot, and there's something wrong with the post i just don't get.
But nice work!
Wish I could be there this year. I bought a magnificent Toshiro Mifune piece from you at last year's Fan Expo, and seeing your work and chatting with you was a high point of the weekend. Thanks for all your great work.
Thanks for the comments, everyone. I appreciate it. Hopefully, some of you will be at Fan Expo this year.
Neil and Michael: I appreciate the crits, gentlemen. I agree on the leg -- its a hard angle to foreshorten properly, and I wasn't entirely satisfied with the results either.
Nice ones.
I love the Mr. Miracle one, but I am not sure of your choice of colours for it. Since he usually wears such a bright outfit, why choose such understated tones?
